I often instruct my children (who come to me multiple times a day for questions and discussion) to "walk and talk". Many times I am on my way to do a task or we are headed to fulfill something in our schedule, so we simply walk along as we talk. Don't get me wrong, we do have our moments of intimacy...sitting on daughter's bed, brushing hair, with love whispers or test flying folded airplanes with son sharing sweet nothings all the while.
But what about this idea...walk and talk. Isn't that the concept behind our relationship with Abba Father? Consider Noah. Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God (Gen 6:9).
Think. Did Noah have tasks to complete along with a busy schedule? Ahem, 120 years to build an ark, animals to gather, all the while preaching to a mocking crowd of gawkers. Yes, surely He needed to walk and talk with his Father. Not only that, but he required specifics to build this never before built ark.
Are there specifics in your life that you need answered by God? I sure do. We have another potential move on the horizon and need to know the where, the how, and the when. Look at Noah's undertaking. As he walked and talked with God, he was instructed on which materials to use, how many cubits, stories, windows, and where/which animals to bring on the ark along with the necessary food and supplies for his long voyage.
God is the same yesterday, today, and forevermore. I am so glad He is concerned with the details of our lives. We need only walk and talk...and listen.

That's so true, Angie. Sometimes, I know I have been guilty of checking off the quiet time with Him in the morning, but then get up and go about my day...walking alone. Doing my day alone, in my own strength.
How much better it is when I get up from my intimate time with Him, and keep walking through my day talking each thing through with Him as I go.
Great post, my friend.
Often in my day I amdoing just that!!! Walking and talking to the Savior...Thank you for this post! Cathy
this is all about practicing the presence.
may His answers be right on time, Angie.
Beautiful! Oh may we walk, talk, and then take the time to be still and listen!!! Amen. Beautiful post!
Yep. God makes it pretty simple, doesn't He? Yet, we humans like to complicate things.
Walk, and talk. Walk, and talk. That's how it ought to be.
Thank you, Angie, for your kind words. "Walk and talk", yes, that is what we are called to do and with God along we are able.
What a timely post for me today. I have been thinking alot about elderly care lately because it is touching close to home. And the thought crossed my mind on what I would want my last few days to be like. I thought about how wonderful it would be to be on the top of a mountain all alone just me and God so we could talk one on one. I think that would be an awesome way to go.
