Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the LORD our God…Psalm 123:2
Can anyone deny the joy that comes from having a new puppy in your home? Zoey, a white fuzzy Lhasa Apso, came to live with us this summer and has quickly become an indispensable member of our family. She helps wake up my son every morning turning his usual grumpy mood into a joyful one. She tolerates being dressed up in sassy girlie outfits by my daughter and has even wormed her way into my husband’s heart sending his usual manly voice into a high-pitched “Well hello there little Zo-Zo” upon greeting her.
Since I am the alpha female, she has attached herself to me, following me like a little lamb. She keeps her eyes on my feet. Wherever I lead, there she is. Even if she is in a deep sleep and I get up to move to another room, she willingly lifts her head showing her scrunched up beard and sleepy eyes, slowly rises, then quickly scampers behind me, joyfully, ungrudgingly.

I have no need to call the Dog Whisperer, for she obeys so willingly and even rolls over in submission when she knows I am displeased with her. She waits patiently for me at the dinner table for a little morsel looking at me with her big Betty Davis eyes. How can anyone resist such a face?
During times of uncertainty, for instance, when I take her to the vet, Zoey looks not to the right or left, but immediately seeks me, clinging to my arm.
Oh that I would follow my Master and trust him so dutifully!
Lord, help me look to You for my provision the way Zoey looks to me, never demanding, but patient and trusting, knowing that you will tend to my every need.
Lord, help me remember in my difficult moments to run to you, my Good Shepherd, knowing that you will calm my anxious heart.
Father, help me fully grasp the notion that contentment is possible simply because I am in your presence. Thank you for teaching me even through this fuzzy little pup.

Very comforting post today Angie. Isn't it amazing how humans consider themselves above other animals yet that little puppy has more faith than most humans will ever know. I long to have that much faith. That reminds me, it is time for my Bible reading this morning. Thanks again,
Greg
You are so right. We could really learn a lot about being a faithful follower from our dogs.
Precious post, and your Zoey looks so much like our Molly....
BTW you were the first comment on the Banana Bread....then I noticed I didn't add sugar to the recipe.
Made the correction....Banana bread needs sugar.....

Gotcha Wanda. Thanks!
Precious doggie and story! Thanks for sharing both!
Nice, we have a cross... Lhasa Apso cross Terrier.
=)
Zoey is the cutest little punny anyone could have.
Please remember us in prayer, my motheris not too well
She's a cutie!
I certainly will, Amrita.
What a cute little doggie. I loved your description of how the dog affects your family. My youngest son too will instantly cheer up when he sees his doggie!
So true too about loyalty. Are we loyal to our Lord and Savior Jesus, waiting to do His beckoning? Good thoughts!
I'll babysit her, if you ever need me to! Never mind that you live way over there, and I'm here. When there's Puppy-Love, you always find a way!
I resisted getting a dog for ages but eventually gave in, to the delight of my two girls. The dog, a Golden Doodle, completely changed our lives for the better. Long walks with the family in the woods, laughter, fooling about etc.
One of the best decisions I was ever pressured into! ;-)
