Sunday morning. I am up before the sun, before kids are awake, and the demands of the day pull me in all directions. I stretch under the covers and in my laziness, reach for the remote control.
Click. Paid programming appears as the title at the top of my television. Cindy Crawford persuades me to give her my money so that I can have the same flawless skin that she has. Oh my, an introductory offer at $29.95. I am tempted.
Change channel. More paid programming. I contemplate purchasing a sweeper that swivels and goes places that my current clunky vacuum cannot. That handy little thing would fit just right behind my laundry room door. Even the kids could use it. This is a definite possibility.
Change channel. Again, paid programming. An exercise video that promises to make me firm in six weeks. Hmmm, I would love to have those abs.
Change channel. No surprise this time—paid programming. I am offered a program guaranteed to give me a financial makeover through purchasing real estate. Nah, too complicated. I just bought a house and don’t care to go through that again.
Click. Power off. I sit up in bed, turn on the light, put on my glasses, and open a book in my lap. The pages teach me about the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight; a cleaning that can turn my scarlet sin as white as snow; One who exercises kindness, justice, and righteousness in all the earth and can open the floodgates of heaven pouring out so much blessing that I will not have room enough for it.
Best of all, it is free! Purchased and paid in full by Jesus. A free gift that only needs to be received. The toll free line is easily accessible by simply opening your heart to His promises. How can you refuse this special offer?

Hi Angie!
Great name, by the way :0)
I posted a link to your blog on mine this morning, because your thoughts tied in with what I was thinking and feeling today. Then, in a fit of inspiration, I did write my own post for the day, LOL! But I just wanted to say I enjoy your blog, and you have such a graceful witness. Hope you have a blessed day!
"Purchased and paid in full by Jesus."
Now that is an infomercial that I want to see :)
Happy Sunday!
It is a delightful read, your blog, today.
I was up my usual time and heard the robins singing and went out in the mist in socks and shorts and made my first video and put it on YouTube. Not much to see but the sounds of the robins singing is like heaven to me.
You can see or hear it on My Birds Blog.

That's an offer I can't refuse. I hate those paid advertisements. The truth is I don't need perfect skin. I don't want to have a million bucks and I am ok with my abs. I am finding out just how wealthy I am and it has nothing to do with money. Sunday Afternoon we spent together in our pool and it was better than any vacation that you could pay for. And yes God's love is free and it is offered to anyone. Where else can you find a deal like that?
Beautiful - God has the best offer in the world!!!
You are so rich Angie ~~~ rich in things this world cannot give.
I love that book in your lap, it's in mine too. and I did not refuse that special offer, and it was the best decision of my life!!!
Thanks again for your gentle and tender inspiration.
Thank you for the blessing of encouragement. We don't need to look outside of Jesus for anything, do we? What an amazing offer!
I loved this post, Angie, I remember the day that I opened my heart and recieved Jesus's free gift of salvation and I have never been sorry. I have all things to be thankful for because of Him and His righteousness. connie from Texas
I just loved this post Angie ~ I chuckled when I read about paid advertising [which I do not like either] and then when you made your comparison to those precious things we are freely given once He's washed away our sin with His own precious blood, it struck such a chord in my own heart :o)
I can only say AMEN!!
My own post this weekend had to do with several verses, all mentioning the *riches of His matchless grace*.
Blessigs to you!
Angie, it is you who teaches me.
Thank you, dear friend.
I am so glad that I stumbled upon your blog today... such a treasure for my soul!
Ah, so much better than the offers that clamor for our attention in our society! I hope your family has had a lovely weekend, Angie.
