Blurry vision, recurring headaches, eye twitching, and the realization that I am inching closer to my fortieth birthday, prompted me to have my eyes checked. After a thorough examination, sure enough, the doctor could not believe I had gone so long without glasses.
I recall when she slipped the magical lens in front of my eyes how the letters before me came into focus. Even the white background behind the letters was illuminated, turning from gray to bright white. How had I endured this fuzzy focus for so many years? It seemed so normal to me.
On the way home from the clinic where I finally picked up my glasses, the best way I know to describe my new vision is to say that all of a sudden things had a high definition quality about them. There was a new depth to my eyesight. No longer did I see just a tree along side of the road. I could also see the detail of leaves.
This made me question. How are my spiritual eyes lacking? In what areas am I walking in darkness and do not even realize it?
Oh Lord, with the psalmist, I ask, open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law (Ps 119:18). I want to see the world through the lens of your word, my spiritual vision illuminated and magnified by faith!

I noticed the same thing when I first got my glasses, Wow there are leaves on all these trees. Now you need to update your picture. :)
I pray that you see wonderful things too with your new glasses.
Angie, I remember the day I tried to read a Tylenol bottle in a store (back in my late 30s, before Godzilla) and couldn't.
Wish they'd made cute glasses like yours when I first needed them. Those are perfect on you!
What a great comparsion you gave! Our Spiritual eyes can get blurry also.
The lens are perfect for you. connie from Texas
Great analogy my friend. I'm so glad you had your sight checked and now have that "help". I got my glasses, oh, probably in my twenties due to working at a microscope day in and day out at the lab. The Dr. said it probably strained my eyes from looking up close at things so that it made it difficult for me to look far away. I definately need glasses to drive and usually if we're headed to the movies :)
Take care and have a nice weekend! You look nice in those stylish specs. Mine definately need an update! (smile)
Those specs look great on you. And isn't vision (20-20) great!!
I started wearing glasses in the 8th grade ~~ and remember that feeling of seeing everything in high definition before that was a term.
In college I went to contacts and have been wearing them ever since.
Love your spiritual comparison. Perfect ~~ I want 20-20 Spiritual vision.
Love and Hugs
Wanda ~~ Here's lookin at ya!!
Amen, this is what the Lord is speaking to Imrah as a team. Did you know that we are a team of 8 now? =)
God is taking one step at a time.

We see only dimly...but then...face to face!! They suit you beautifully Angie.
love the new specs, Angie! :)
Now you just have to remember to get your eyes checked every year and get new lenses when needed. That's something I wait too long in doing, and I drive around, wearing glasses, and still squinting!
"Open my eyes that I might see...
open my eyes, illumine me, Spirit of God"- I love that old hymn!
They look fabulous, Angie -- and your insights are lovely, as always!
