photo by useful_fiction @ flickrI am weary of being the leaves of the tree
exposed and blown by changing winds
Recoiling, I sink deeper
into the life force sap of the living Word
deeper
deeper
where there is washing
cleansing from the Author of life
Renewed
Purified
Grounded and steadfast in the immovable trunk,
enveloped and safe from external elements
Growth comes imperceptibly, but surely
Well-watered leaves never wither
In due season, fruit will be born

10 kind thoughts:
Did you write that? It is beautiful. I have had to protect some young plants from the cold the past few nights. Some older well rooted plants made it through without any help. You have a solid base and will easily ride out any storm. Keep grownig Angie.
Yes, there have been wind advisories and severe burn warnings these past couple of weeks. I suppose it's windy literally & figuratively. God is always the inspiration, right? Happy gardening, Greg. We'll both see the fruit.
"Growth comes imperceptibly, but surely Well-watered leaves never wither In due season, fruit will be born"
FANTASTIC!!!!
I love how trees, flowers, shrubs, etc. do not fret about their growing. They just are ... all to the glory of their Creator!
I literally just finished a long long distance conversation with a dear friend about, among many things, the imperceptibility of growth.
We shall be like a tree "PLANTED" by the rivers of water that bring forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither and whatever he does shall prosper. Psalm 1:3
Lord, You are the Master Gardener! Plant us by Your rivers and help us to be more about being. We entrust our growth, leaves and fruit bearing to You. Your promises are always Yes and Amen in Christ Jesus!
Glory to God!
I love your blog images and warmth and compassion that is apparent in your words. When you savor your life, it comes across and inspires others to find meaning in their own lives, in their own way. have a marvelous day!
Simply profound.....you have the gift from above dear one.
Thank you ;)
Sinking deeper indeed - grounded and steadfast! Beautiful!
Just beautiful, Angie - like a hug for the soul!
Beautiful. I am reminded of Psalm 1: Blessed is the man...
